How Alpha Erec Works: Four Ideas in One Gummy
Quick answer
Alpha Erec is built on four ideas in one daily gummy.
Arginine and citrulline help the body make nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels. Ashwagandha and ginseng were tested for stress and vitality, maca for desire, and zinc and vitamin D are basic nutrients.

Overview
What is the idea behind the Alpha Erec formula?
The formula mixes four kinds of ingredients, each picked for a different reason. Think of Alpha Erec as four ideas in one gummy, not one proven effect.

Blood flow
L-arginine and L-citrulline are building blocks for nitric oxide, which helps blood vessels relax.
Stress
Ashwagandha and Panax ginseng are herbs tested for stress, energy and vitality in men.
Desire
Maca was tested for sexual desire in small trials. Tribulus, horny goat weed and fenugreek sit in the same group.
Nutrients
Zinc and vitamin D3 are basic nutrients with a set daily need.
Each idea has some human research behind it, which is why these ingredients show up in so many men's formulas. What nobody has studied is the mix: ten ingredients together, at unknown amounts, in one berry gummy. So read every result on this page as a reason the ingredient was chosen, not as a forecast for you.
Blood flow
How are arginine and citrulline meant to help blood flow?
They are meant to feed nitric oxide, a gas the body makes to relax the walls of blood vessels. Relaxed vessels let more blood through, and healthy blood flow is central to erections.
Arginine is the raw material
Cells lining the blood vessels use an enzyme to turn arginine into nitric oxide. Arginine comes from food and from the body's own supply.
Citrulline refills arginine
The kidneys turn citrulline into arginine. That gives the body a second route to the same raw material.
Nitric oxide relaxes vessels
Sildenafil-type drugs act on this same pathway, further down the line. That overlap is why the pairing needs a doctor's view.
The human studies are real, but they tested each amino acid alone. Pooled trials in 540 men with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction found that 1,500 to 5,000 mg of arginine a day did better than placebo (Rhim et al., 2019). A small trial gave 24 men 1,500 mg of citrulline a day for a month, and half reached a normal score on the study's scale, against 8% on placebo (Cormio et al., 2011).
The two amino acids get a full chapter in L-arginine and L-citrulline explained.
Stress
How do ashwagandha and ginseng fit in?
They cover the stress side of the formula. Both have long use in traditional medicine, and both have been tested in men, at doses we know.

Ashwagandha: the adaptogen idea
"Adaptogen" is an old word for herbs said to help the body cope with stress. The modern data are more specific. In an 8-week trial, 57 men aged 40 to 70 took 600 mg of extract a day, and testosterone rose 14.7% more than on placebo (Lopresti et al., 2019). Other studies used 240 to 1,250 mg a day (NIH ODS, ashwagandha).
Liver injury has been reported with ashwagandha, and it can change thyroid levels, so men with liver disease or on thyroid medicine should ask a doctor first.
Panax ginseng: energy and vitality
A 2018 review found ginseng trials encouraging, at 1,800 to 3,000 mg a day for 2 to 3 months, but not strong enough to recommend (Borrelli et al., 2018). Ginseng may also lower blood sugar, and its most common side effect is trouble sleeping (NCCIH, Asian ginseng). That is one reason a morning dose makes sense.
Desire
What role do maca and the other herbs play?
Maca is the formula's desire ingredient. It was tested for sexual desire and function in a handful of small trials, with mixed results.

A 2010 systematic review covered maca trials that used 1,500 to 3,000 mg a day (Shin et al., 2010). It found limited evidence from few, small trials and drew no firm conclusion. Maca is a food in Peru, so the idea is gentle support, not a fast effect.
Three other herbs sit in this group, and their evidence is weaker.
- Tribulus terrestris: 800 mg a day for 30 days did no better than placebo for symptoms or testosterone (Santos et al., 2014).
- Horny goat weed: human studies are scarce; most data come from animals (Srivatsav et al., 2020).
- Fenugreek: we have not reviewed a verified human study, so we quote no dose or result.
Nutrients
Why are zinc and vitamin D in the gummy?
They are there as nutrients, not as active herbs. Each has a set daily need. For adult men, the zinc RDA is 11 mg with an upper limit of 40 mg (NIH ODS, zinc). For vitamin D, the RDA is 600 to 800 IU, with an upper limit of 4,000 IU (NIH ODS, vitamin D).
- Zinc RDA, adult men
- 11 mg a day
- Zinc upper limit
- 40 mg a day
- Vitamin D RDA, adults
- 600 to 800 IU a day
- Vitamin D upper limit
- 4,000 IU a day

A nutrient helps most when you are short of it. If your diet or a multivitamin already covers both, adding more does not add benefit, and too much of either can cause harm. Because the gummy's amounts are not published, check your totals with your doctor.
Gap
What is the honest gap in how Alpha Erec works?
There are two gaps, and they are large. The brand does not publish how much of each ingredient is in a gummy. And no study has tested Alpha Erec itself, only its ingredients one at a time.
| Idea | Ingredients | Doses used in studies | Amount in Alpha Erec |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood flow | L-arginine, L-citrulline | 1,500 to 5,000 mg; 1,500 mg | Not published |
| Stress | Ashwagandha, Panax ginseng | 240 to 1,250 mg; 1,800 to 3,000 mg | Not published |
| Desire | Maca, tribulus, horny goat weed, fenugreek | 1,500 to 3,000 mg; 800 mg; no human data; not reviewed | Not published |
| Nutrients | Zinc, vitamin D3 | RDA 11 mg; RDA 600 to 800 IU | Not published |
Studied amounts of arginine and ginseng alone add up to several grams a day, and the gummy's weight is not published. A federal health agency review found that no complementary approach has been shown to be safe and effective for sexual enhancement (NCCIH digest).
Alpha Erec is not a treatment for erectile dysfunction. ED can be an early sign of heart or blood vessel disease, so it deserves a doctor's visit first.
Vs drugs
How is Alpha Erec different from a prescription ED drug?
A prescription drug is approved for a medical use after large trials at a known dose. Alpha Erec is a dietary supplement, and the FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (U.S. FDA).

There is also a safety point in this category. The FDA keeps finding hidden sildenafil and tadalafil in products sold for sexual enhancement (U.S. FDA, hidden ingredients). Buy only from the official store, never from unknown sellers; see where to buy Alpha Erec.
What the ingredients may and may not do is set out on the Alpha Erec benefits page, and how long the studies ran is on the results timeline.

FAQ
How Alpha Erec works: FAQ
Does Alpha Erec raise nitric oxide?
That is the idea behind its arginine and citrulline. No study has measured nitric oxide after taking this gummy, and the amounts inside are not published.
Is Alpha Erec a natural Viagra?
No. Sildenafil is an approved drug with a known dose. This is a dietary supplement that has not been tested as a product and is not a treatment for ED.
Does Alpha Erec raise testosterone?
It makes no testosterone claim. One ashwagandha trial saw testosterone rise in men 40 to 70; a tribulus trial saw no change. Neither tested this gummy.
Why take Alpha Erec in the morning?
The brand directions say morning. Ginseng can cause trouble sleeping, so an early dose avoids that.
Has Alpha Erec been tested in a clinical trial?
No study of this gummy was supplied or found. The research on this site is on single ingredients at known doses.
Will I feel Alpha Erec work on the first day?
No label gives a timeline. The ingredient studies ran from one month to about three months, so a single day tells you very little.
